1. Where to stay
I was scouring the internet for helpful advice and of course TravelNoire.com was the first thing I came across with pertinent information. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JP_b2fiS8F8 Luckily, Jacob was a strong advocate for hostels although for some reason I thought Curacao would be too small of an island to have them, I was wrong and my pockets will be that much heavier for it.
A. The Hostel
i. There are actually so many choices for hostels on the island, of which, I will not list for you because I don’t want to let everyone know where I will be staying. What I will say is that the reason that the hostel makes the cut as opposed to any other option of residence is the fact that Hostel’s are built for people who want to wander around and do things. I can rent a car, bike motoped, schedule a all the tours, get maps to all the beaches and food as well as meet all the other like minded people who want to do the exact same thing. A hostel makes all the things convenient since I wont be able to rent a car from the AirBnB host this was the best choice for me.
B. AirBnB
i. Listen, if I wasn’t trying to be fiscally responsible I would totally be renting the below. Or if I was on a group trip! This house would comfortably fit like 8 people, let me rephrase, 8 non-bougie people. https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/5333943?s=JiC0yyZ-
ii. #1 Paco is fine. Lol
Also, this house might as well have been built on the ocean and is what I hope my home looks like when I am an adultier adult. https://www.airbnb.com/users/show/14899039
iii. This is my personal favorite because I would want to stay in a colorful place on vacation. Can you imagine the Instagram photos! With a giant orange wall that would simply make my bronze skin glow! https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/8775639?s=JiC0yyZ-
C. Shmotel
i. Hotel, Shmotel who needs these domiciles of antiquity any more! Honestly, even if I had the money I still would have went with one of those colorful AirBnB options in the middle of the city. However, they do have a multitude of hotel options, none of them really enticing except for one that has a 5-star chef and you can really get me to do anything as long as good food is involved.
P.S.
I am no longer going to be a solo traveler the whole trip. Just the first couple of days!
